Paula Rae Gibson
Maybe Too Nude
To be released early 2008

Paula Rae Gibson - composer, vocals

Collaborations with Tom Pilling (piano), Will Gregory, Martyn Barker

Paula Rae Gibson releases her first album on Babel in early 2008. A mesmerising vocal approach, drawing comparison with Tori Amos and Bjork, with songs about emotion, love between individuals and the pressures that of finding true happiness.

" i believe that suffering is essential for  bringing out the best of who we are. if you race thru life only skimming the top of your emotions you'll never get to feel ecstasy ,  and  free yourself with the fear and insecurity that seems " (prg)

She has built a reputation as imaginative photographer with two books (Diary of A Love Addict and I'll Always Walk Away), graphically expressing personal experience and thoughts and a critically acclaimed album on 33 Jazz (No More Tiptoes). Her music and writing for this new album extends this. No More Tiptoes is available online and through our ecommerce site. The books are also available from Babel.

We Blow It Every Time was selected as a track of the year in Time Out Magazine.

Her music has a haunting intimacy reflecting human nature and relationships, creating a "variety of atmospheric soundscapes" (Peter Quinn, Jazzwise). "A cinematic, dark and at times erotic set." (Rough Trade) "Music-making doesn't get much more personal than this." (Jazzwise)
